(Previously A Pod Too Far)
I love war films. They’re a crucial part of British cinema, and also vital to how we understood who we were as a nation in the years after 1945. But no one in my family wants to watch them with me, so I had to start a podcast to find a place where I could chat about them. War Movie Theatre (previously known as A Pod Too Far) is where the economist and historian Duncan Weldon and I watch our favourite movies, some well-known, some less so, and discuss why Clint Eastwood never needs to reload his submachine gun, why Michael Caine is never going to get those tanks down that road, and why on earth they didn’t just change the name of the dog in Dambusters.
